getting rid of that charlie brown teacher voice.

sometimes in life, don't you feel like the whole world sounds like "waaah waaaah waaaaaaah waaah wah" (the charlie brown teacher voice) and you don't know how to focus on what really matters with all of this pointless noise?

in those times, i just need to read words that speak to my soul so i can get that charlie brown teacher voice out of my head. these are just some of the words i have read recently:

laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever. -walt disney

the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. -stephen r. covey

trust life a little bit. - maya angelou

it always seems impossible until it's done. - nelson mandela

if you care about what other people think, you will always be their prisoner. -james frey

people generally see what they look for, and hear what they listen for. -to kill a mockingbird

why not go out on a limb? that's where the fruit is. -mark twain

peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ. -sheila walsh

If one should give me a dish of sand and tell me there were particles of iron in it, I might look for them with my eyes, and search for them with my clumsy fingers, and be unable to detect them; but let me take a magnet and sweep through it, and how would it draw to itself the almost invisible particles by the mere power of attraction! The unthankful heart, like my finger in the sand, discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day, and as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find in every hour some heavenly blessings; only the iron in God's sand is gold. -Henry Ward Beecher

The WHAT informs, the WHY transforms. -Dieter F. Uchtdorf in this talk

The cultivation of Christlike qualities is a demanding and relentless task--it is not for the seasonal worker or for those who will not stretch themselves, again and again. -Spencer W. Kimball

Whatever God requires is right, no matter what it is, although we may not see the reason thereof till long after the events transpire. -Joseph Smith

When you come to the Red-Sea-places in your life,
When in spite of all you can do, There is no way 'round, there is no way back,
There is no other way but through:  Then know God with a soul serene,
And the dark and the storm are gone.  God stills the wind.  God stills the waves.
God says to your soul,  'Go on.'
-Baird T. Spalding

Clear your minds with beautiful words and go on.

  1. that main thing quote is amazing. wit & inspiration all wrapped up into one. ahhh yes, president uchtdorf! always & forever my favorite. the what & why. i love love love it. i also love that one by president kimball that talks about cultivating christlike qualities. it is so important to make that task an everyday one. the gospel is not something that can be lived when it is convenient. we must live it whole heartedly, continuously, through every season and second of every day. and of course the more i keep reading the more i keep loving. i love the one joseph smith said about god's requirements always being right even if we do not see it that way. i also love yours own quote "clear your minds with beautiful words and go on" that right there is pinterest worthy.

Thanks for making my day!
